I am delighted to be working at Christ the King School. This year I am working in Room 1 and teaching a class of Years 6, 7 & 8 girls. I am a life long learner and I enjoy sharing my love of learning with others. My strengths are in digital teaching and learning. I also love teaching art and providing language rich experiences for my learners. In 2013, I was invited to Google in Chicago, United States of America to become a Google Certified Teacher. In 2014, I was seconded to work for the Manaiakalani Education Trust. I had the opportunity to work as a facilitator for the Ako Hiko Trust and Christ the King School was one of the schools I worked in. In my spare time, I love catching up with my friends and family, going to the movies, doing embroidery, having outdoor adventures and travelling the world.
My vision for Room 8 is to provide learning opportunities for ALL students to be actively engaged in their learning. To participate and contribute to group or whole class discussions. Continue to build learners’ that would continue to grow in confidence to ask questions when they are unsure about their learning. To be risk takers and express and share their knowledge, understanding and expertise with others. It is important for students to know they have rights and responsibilities for their own learning and the learning of others. Building a positive and safe learning environment where respect for one another is the umbrella for our classroom is paramount. We are all learners’ together walking an exciting future and learning journey.
