“We are called to create community” St Mary Mackillop
Thank you to our CTK Community this week. It was fantastic to see over 70% of our students with their families at the Community Potluck Dinner last night. It was great to share a meal, chat and get to know you all a little bit more.
Thank you again for the outstanding effort in our School Raffle. We made over $500, which will go towards our Whole School Trip to the Hamilton Gardens and Zoo in November.
Congratulations to our winners: Rico (Rm 6), Clarke (Rm 5), Titan (Rm 4) and Mrs Lelo (Rm 6)

Feast of St Joseph
On 8 December 1870, Pope Pius IX declared Saint Joseph as the Patron of the Universal Church. Pope Pius IX was the Pope with whom Mary MacKillop met in Rome in 1873. On 8 December 2020, Pope Francis wrote his Apostolic Letter Patris Corde (With a Father’s Heart) to mark the 150th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Saint Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church. He declared the Year of Joseph to be honoured and celebrated from 8 December 2020 to 8 December 2021. Devotion to Saint Joseph has a long history in the Church and the more recent Popes have given a new emphasis to the importance of Saint Joseph in our Christian Story.
Assessment at CTK
Over the past year Mr Tyrell and Mr Hadnett have been reviewing assessments that our school has undertaken. We questioned the purpose and the information gathered from our assessments. Teachers have nearly completed these assessments and will share the data with you at our School/Whanau Interviews on 30th March. Listed below are the assessments that have been finished for 2021.
