Principal’s Message

“Give thanks in all circumstances”

Thessalonians 5:18

This week we were lucky enough to have Variety NZ work with Yr 8 students in our Community Garden. They have done an amazing job which our whole community will benefit from.

We currently have three garden beds with herbs and vegetables and several fruit trees. Moving forward our garden will be fenced, the concrete wall painted and several more garden beds installed to allow more space for vegetables.

CTK Feast Day Mass – 17th Nov at 9am

Thank you

Thank you to all those that attended our Sunday Mass last week. We had a great turn out of 65% of our students. We are looking to increase this in 2021.

Also a thank you to the parents that came to our Maori and Pacifica Evening. Your sharing of information, expertise and time was invaluable.

Kind regards

Billy Hadnett

This week our sports focus on athletics started with a beautiful sunny afternoon. Great to see everyone have a go with some of the activities. The focus this week was on shot put, sprints and long jump. Given that the weather is starting to get really warm, Senior students will need a change of clothes for sports. For all our students it’s good to see hats and water bottles at school. Keeping hydrated during the warm weather is so important for health and safety.

Room 2 presented their inquiry on Landforms this week.  Each group has worked hard on their presentations and models over the last two weeks.  Students discussed what they were most proud of and what went well.  They talked about challenges they faced during the process and how they overcame the challenges.  Some very good presentations by our students.

Digital Devices 2021

From Feburary 2021 CTK will no longer be connected to the Ako Hiko Digital Cluster. This means small changes will be made.

1 – Our Year 3 – 6 students will be in 1-1 Digital Classes.

2 – Chromebooks will have to be sourced by the families (CTK will no longer sell chromebooks). Devices can be purchased from places such as PB Tech, Noel Leeming, Harvey Norman and The Warehouse Stationary. Refer to the links below.

If you are purchasing a new device be sure it is a chromebook as this will match the system we run in school.

If you have any questions please contact the school office 626 7123.
