Whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all.
Next week we will participate in ‘Cans for Christmas’. This organisation has been helping people in need for 6 years by collecting canned food items for the St Vincent de Paul Society. This year our help is needed more than ever. Currently SVDP is providing approximately 750 food parcels per week. Each of these food parcels includes 15 cans of food.
We currently have collected 250 cans. To help boost our total, Friday 11th September is mufti day! Bring a canned food item and you can wear mufti clothing to school. Let’s collect as many cans as possible to help as many families as possible throughout our community and Auckland.
Thank you for your support over the past weeks with online learning. We had an overall uptake of 80%+ for the whole three weeks and an average of 70%+ per day. This has been a fantastic effort made by parents, teachers and students.
Weekly Engagement Report Trial
At our Parent Partnership Meeting at the beginning of August, I shared an idea of reporting weekly to parents on how your child/children were progressing in managing self and relating to others. For the first five weeks of Term 4, each teacher will trial this new report with a few students from their class. Below is an example of what the report may look like. If you are chosen for this trial, you will receive an email the last week of Term 3 to advise you of the process.
PTFA is generally a group of parents who work together to run events such as school discos, sausage sizzles, bake sales, etc. I am keen to re-establish this group at our school. If you are interested in becoming part of this organisation, please email me of your interest and I will set the first meeting date.
Stay safe, be kind and keep the faith.
Over the past 5 years we have participated in a programme called PB4L (Positive Behaviour for Learning). This programme supports learning and positive behaviours that we would like our children to demonsrate consistently at school and at home.
We have developed our @ Home Expectations page that allows a link to be formed between school and home. These expectations are built upon our Classroom Expectations.
We will introduce a Values Voucher that can be used at home and put into a weekly draw at school.
Due to lack of enrolments in Year 7 and Year 8, these two classes have been discontinued in 2021. Year 6 parents needing guidence with finding alternative schools for their daughters, please contact Mr Hadnett.
